CLJ’s Chico Tillman is one of Ford’s 2017 Men of Courage.
The CLJ Department is proud to announce that Criminology PhD student Chico Tillman is one of Ford's 2017 Men of Courage award recipients. The honor amplifies the accomplishments of African American men with the goal of strengthening communities and changing the narrative about black men. Tillmon was honored on Martin Luther King, Jr. day on January 16th. Tillmon works with Cure Violence where he deescalates disputes throughout Chicago. Born and bred on the West side of Chicago, Tillmon is in a unique position to address violence in Chicago.
