About
Julian is a doctoral student in the department of Criminology, Law, and Justice at UIC with a concentration in Latin American and Latino Studies. His research interests include crimmigration, hyper-policing in migrant communities, and race and ethnicity issues, and highlighting ways in which Latinos are criminalized in the United States. Through his work he aims to bridge the gap between academia and professional career paths with hopes of one day teaching while being able to work in order to help highlight issues immigrant and Latino communities are experiencing.
