About
Meaghan (they/them) is a second-year Ph.D. student in CLJ. They are interested in the construction and function of families, laws and policies that surveil and regulate families, and related discourse, considering political, economic, and social contexts. Their research interests have led them to examine historical and contemporary consequences of these dynamics for specific communities, focusing on the structural forces that shape families and the individuals within them.
Meaghan has a background as a Chicago Public Schools school social worker, private practice psychotherapist, and Children’s Rights Graduate Scholar at the Center for the Human Rights of Children. They have an MA in Women’s Studies and Gender Studies, an MSW from Loyola University Chicago, and a BA from The Evergreen State College.
